A little info about candle wax:
Soy wax is hard to work with. Like- stupidly difficult.
For this reason most commercial candle companies stick to either paraffin or a blend. While paraffin wax is easier to work with (in terms of scent throw) it also is derived from petroleum. You’ll find conflicting reports on both soy and paraffin: some demonize paraffin for it’s derivation from petroleum while others say the eco-footprint of harvesting soy is also harmful.
At the end of the day we believe it just comes down to preference. Our focus is our scents: the type of wax is up to you.
Our 100% soy wax candles have a very clean burn, last over 50 hours and are meant for smaller rooms: bathrooms, small bedrooms, and even kitchens.
If you’re looking for a candle scent to take over the entire room then our soy blends are the way to go. While they don’t last quite as long they do have a stronger scent that some people prefer.
After you have your candle there are a few steps to ensure the longest life of your candle:
Never leave a lit candle unattended. This should be obvious but, you know.
When you light a candle for the first time make sure you have enough time to allow the melt pool of the candle to reach the edges. If not, your candle is more likely to tunnel. If tunneling does occur simply use the candle as much as possible and then place it on a wax melter.
Always keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 of an inch to prevent curling and ensure proper melting.
